We’ve been there since the beginning

We’re a new company with a long legacy of helping people live a life unlimited by diabetes. Insulin was first used to treat diabetes in humans in 1922, and just two years later — in 1924 — the company that is now known as embecta developed the world’s first dedicated insulin syringe.1

For 100 years, we have stood alongside people with diabetes, their caregivers and their community, developing and providing solutions that make lives better.

We became an independent, publicly traded company in 2022 (Nasdaq: EMBC)

Today, we are the world’s leading producer of insulin injection devices

Manufacturing approximately 8 billion pen needles and insulin syringes annually and serving an estimated 30 million people with diabetes.2 Our 2,000+ employees around the world are working every day to advance the standard of care in insulin delivery through strong community partnerships, innovative technology and comprehensive care resources — so even more people can live a life unlimited by diabetes.
